Safe Sex!

Blac Soap Shoots a Stirring New Music Video and Sends a Strong Message to Both Artists and Fans

After a whirlwind promotional tour in Canada, hip-hop recording artists, Blac Soap, pit-stopped in Dallas, Texas to shoot the video for their captivating new single, “Lifestyles in the Hood”. Being a creative team is only a slice of what makes up this forward-thinking hip-hop duo. Blac Soap stands firm on many issues that affect people in every community and neighbor [hood]. One issue that tops their list is the crisis of unprotected and loose attitudes toward sex and STDs affecting the lives of kids and young adults. Blac Soap chooses to use their art as a platform to reach people and get their strong message across. Their new music video will definitely achieve that mission.

Shot in a variety of locations throughout Dallas, the video’s director, Arthur Muhammad of Sweet Chariot Productions, hit the mark with his vision of bringing Blac Soap’s lyrics to life with his poignant cinematography and sharp shooting. The forthcoming “Safe Sex” campaign spearheaded by Blac Soap is sure to resonate in fans, artists, community leaders and parents because of the moving illustrations in this cutting-edge video. The overall purpose of releasing a song with this degree of intensity is to make people stop and think. There is an abundance of music in the mainstream that glamorizes sex, money and the party lifestyle. Balance is needed, however, where the other side of that story is told truthfully and candidly. Blac Soap is that balance and creatively tells the other side of that story.

Seif and Fly Beads of Blac Soap are passionate about their message. “We’re not the type of artists to focus on one side of life…or a story. There are serious problems occurring in this world…this country…our communities. Education is the most viable means to solve these problems, so that’s why we feel strongly about teaching kids [and adults] about being protected and responsible when it comes to sex. We’re not saying don’t have it…just be smart about it…or this is what could happen”.

“This is the most profound music video, from any genre, that I have seen in a very long time. Blac Soap isn’t afraid to push the envelope or their creativity…and along with that creativity is a serious and timely message. These guys are total and complete artists, and X Records stands behind them and this entire movement”, says X Records President, Thomi Hairston.
